SELECTED WORK

Change, made practical.

Three projects. Different environments. The same care in how change is delivered.

01 / PLATFORMS & AUTOMATION↗
TLC SOLUTIONS+
01

Building the foundations of a growing MSP.

An internal restaurant IT team was becoming a service provider for multiple businesses. It needed a connected, repeatable way to manage different customer environments.

I implemented Autotask and its integration with Datto RMM, connecting customer knowledge, hardware and software records with remote management. I built maintenance routines and PowerShell actions to make recurring work easier to apply consistently.

WHAT CHANGED

A clearer view of each customer, less repetitive maintenance and procedures the wider team could use.

Accountable Microsoft 365 administration

I implemented Microsoft 365 Lighthouse for delegated administration using our own users, improving accountability compared with shared administrator accounts.

Security policies people could maintain

Within ESET MSP, I organised separate customer environments and device policies. For one customer, I restricted USB storage to pre-authorised serial numbers and documented how engineers could manage the process.

From file server to SharePoint Online

I migrated file-server data into SharePoint Online within a hybrid identity environment, managing permissions and validating access, with stronger authentication and device controls.

02 / MULTI-SITE MODERNISATION↗
INDIVIDUAL RESTAURANTS / TLC SOLUTIONS+
02

35 sites. One repeatable approach.

Ageing hardware was slowing down restaurant systems and making new technology harder to integrate reliably. The upgrade had to fit around real business operations.

I owned hardware preparation and installation documentation, tested and hardened equipment, and carried out the first installations. I then shared the approach so other engineers could deploy at sites I couldn’t reach.

WHAT CHANGED

A more stable estate, easier configuration and maintenance, and a stronger foundation for future business systems.

Coordinating with the people on site

Head office provided the broad schedule. I worked directly with site managers to agree timing, explain the work and estimated disruption, and avoid local events or other projects.

Preparation that travelled with the equipment

Installation records and clear procedures let other engineers repeat the approach across the UK estate, with shared knowledge of how each deployment should run.

03 / NETWORK DEPLOYMENT↗
LEEDS BECKETT UNIVERSITY / FOURNET+
03

A campus network. A carefully managed change.

Working within FourNet’s team on a university rollout involving hundreds of Extreme Networks switches, I contributed from equipment preparation through deployment and aftercare.

I prepared switches, resolved preparation issues and helped install and test small batches following pre-testing. I kept procedures and old-to-new hardware records current, preserving information for investigation and rollback.

WHAT CHANGED

When a legacy configuration was missed, the records helped the team restore the intended behaviour on the new equipment within the same day.

A record that proved its value

An unusual configuration on an old switch hadn’t carried across during replacement. The deployment history let the team retrieve the previous details and adapt the required behaviour for the new equipment.

Beyond installation

I worked on aftercare and refinement, checking behaviour and helping implement customer-requested features for simpler central management of the network and its users.

THE WAY I WORK

Understand the whole.
Improve the details.

I enjoy understanding how an environment fits together, planning practical improvements and seeing them through. My work spans systems, identity, cloud, networking and security.

From TLC Solutions to FourNet, I’ve worked across hospitality, managed services and education. I put care into testing, change preparation and documentation that another engineer can confidently use.
